I watched Halo: Legends.
I watched Halo: Legends.
It was really interesting.
I like how it had different directors for each of their little episodes, and I also like the different points of view and art styles of each episode and its correlation to the Halo universe.
But why was every director japanese? lol. I get that it is an animated movie, but c'moooooon microsoft.
The only episode the really bothered me was the episode titled "The Duel."
C'mon Japan, really?
We don't need to see japanese words in the episode; The Arbitor doesn't need to be wearing a kimono; the evil godzilla covenant general of "the great journey" does not need to be wearing ancient japanese samurai looking armor. And does there need to be japanese music and japanese water trees and japanese water boats. Good lord.
And why does the arbitor's wife look like a na'vi woman from avatar? AND her name is HAN....the chinese-japanese space alien.
This film was directed by Moonrunes and co-directed by my hairy asshole.
It is an ALIEN RACE!
We don't need japanese culture in there.
ALIIIEEEENNNSSS. They have their own culture! Be unique and creative about that!
Furthermore, the art was terrible. Everything was fuzzy and looked like you were constantly seeing a mirage. The actual characters in the animation looked robotic. It was just up and down movement of the jaw to speak. The whole time it looked like the elites had flat faces with two lips and fuzzy poo colored skin. The only time I saw that the Arbitor had 4 lips was when he was screaming.
I was like "OH, THERE THEY ARE!"
Every battle scene does not need to be constant sword fighting into a wall of enemies just standing there who are calling you the heretic while you're exclaiming, "for my honor!"
They do have alien guns too.
The arbitor's character I felt was not fully captured in the episode too.
I just didn't enjoy it as much as I did the others. The Arbitor's story could have been told better, and could have followed the Halo universe waaaay better.
